I can tell you something though. If you speak Spanish you will land a job faster. This is so sad, but its true.

There is also a couple things I forget to mentioned. For instance, I am applying for professional jobs with one resume. With the other, I have been applying for cashier, security guard, and other lower level knowledge of employment. No calls on both front. The local newspaper employment editor had an article on how tough it is to obtain employment with Strip Casinos. He suggested you start with small off the strip/local casinos. As time progresses, apply at the larger casinos. This sucks. Also why do some casino's limit the amount of applications to 2 submitted every 90 days? This doesn't make any since to me.

If anyone is planning to relocate to Vegas, try to locate employment first. By a prepaid cingular phone (Wallmart) for $20.00 and situp a phone number with the area code 702. With the internet; from where ever your located at, you can submit applications/resumes. This way you can test the market from where ever your located. When I moved here, I was under the impression that there were tons of jobs. I haven't seen one after submitting hundreds resumes. I fell into that trap.
Good Bless and Good luck.

Parking, we were at the Balloonapalooza in NVL yesterday, and the City of NLV had an HR booth there. Might be worth your while to check it out.
Also, the Sands is hiring massive amounts of people for the opening of the Palazzo. Actually, not just for the Palazzo opening, but there's openings at all levels due to the growth of the company. Have you gone through all their online listings?

You don't get a vote. There is massive hiring occurring on the strip. It is going to continue. They tend very strongly to hire those already employed in the industry...blooded as it were. And there is a regular pecking order.
We have a friend with 20 years worth of heavy waitressing experience outside of Las Vegas. Took her 5 months to get a neighborhood casino job working the buffet. In a year she got into a restaurant. In another year she may well make it to one of the chain's new properties or onto the strip. She will not really do well financially until she makes the next move. Does provide medical and all that though.

Parking - this is Vegas - you have to pay your "dues" first
You want a top position - that is understandable but, you are in a competitive town - where there are lots of others with same or superior qualifications as you AND have experience in the gaming industry, are applying.
Start small and work your way up -
Or, go back to SFO

A couple of observations Parking: First, your attitude - seems negative. To get anywhere, you have to possess a POSITIVE attitude. Your question "WHY" is easily answered: They get flooded with applications - they don't need more
Then, your spelling and grammar - I highlighted one example (of a number I have seen throughout your postings). As an employer, if I saw the types of mistakes you commonly make here, I would trash your application -
Like I said - observations
