UNLV was tiny Southern Nevada University, and calling it a university was a stretch of the imagination. It actually has grown pretty fast, and is still growing. I wonder if Harvard grew that fast in the beginning?

Excellent point. UNLV is still a very young learning institution as far as colleges go. It's just great that the valley has it there. In the last few years it's underwent a lot of changes and growth. But it takes a lot of years under the belt to earn a reputation as a great school by most.
