Default Resident setting up an account at a casino.

So a buddy of mine and I were discussing sports betting and this topic came up. Can a resident of the Las Vegas area setup an account where they can call in their sports picks and the casino can withdrawl the money from a checking account? Also, if the bettor wins, can the the winnings be deposited back into that checking account by the casino?

I just found this post while doing a search: Casino marker? Is this possible? I bet it will answer my question.

Yes, you can, but it is rare. I know Station Casinos and Leroy's allows it. They also make sure you are in the immediate vicinity of Las Vegas when you make each bet.

I do not think Station or Leroy's does checking account deposits, not does Cantor. For Station you can use a website called Sports Connection and deposit by cash at your home sports book. Credit card deposits are coming soon allegedly, but so has mobile betting for a year, and neither is live. It is a quirky website that takes you onto an intranet so the rest of the internet is unavailable while you are logged in.

Leroy's you can set up a mobile account at one of their locations and then deposit and withdraw at a PTs or at a Leroy's book.

Cantor has mobile also, and has or very soon will have credit card deposits. Not all Cantor books allow deposits/withdrawals for mobile. For example, Venetian does not.

For Sports Connection, you must have Cox high speed internet and a Windows computer. For Leroy's and Cantor you must be within the state according to the GPS feature of your phone. You will also need an advanced phone. My phone will not operate either mobile platform because the file is too large for each.

I did not read the OP's post correctly. You're right. I set up accounts with both Leroy's and Station years ago. You had to put cash up front, and withdraw the cash at the casino.

State regulators havent approved any of these. In person deposits at licensed casinos are required. Markers require a physical signature by the customer. Credit cards also have not been approved for direct use. So there is no way to make transfers without in person visits to the casinos. Ad frankly the casinos dont want you doing online transfers. They grudgingly accept bets remotely hoping you still come in occasionally to partake of other forms of gambling.

Ok, cool. Thanks for the info. So I take it places like M or Aria don't? Actually I just went to the M website and see that they have Mobile Gaming. I'm guessing that is the same.

@Willy. Gotcha. So basically, a person just needs to hop in the car and visit the casino.

This posts needs some corrections.

Cantor Gaming Announces It Will Accept Most Major Debit and Credit Cards for Race and Sports Wagering Account Deposits - Yahoo! Finance

Cantor Gaming takes credit cards for sports books in person and can be used to fund your mobile account. It is approved. Whether it is available online is unknown by me, but credit cards can be used. As I understood from the last time I was in there a few weeks ago is that mobile credit card deposit is coming.

You can deposit or withdraw Leroy's mobile accounts without going to a casino, as you can go to PT's and some other bars that feature their kiosks and withdraw a voucher from the kiosk that the bar will cash.

While Station owns their books, Leroy's and Cantor have no affiliation with the casinos that they are located in (M, Hard Rock, Venetian, Hooter's, Palms, Tropicana, Riviera and more non CET/MGM casinos. They are also in other parts of the state). They rent the space. They have no interest in whether you go into the casino and play slots. In fact, their goal is to win your sports bets. The more you lose on slots, the less sports betting you would presumably make.

To set up an account you must physically go to the book. If you use Leroy's then you do not have to go back. You can use PT's kiosks but their payout max is $500 per day, otherwise you will have to go to Leroy's. The other two will require you to visit the book for payouts or future deposits.

The process is long and a pain, but you only have to do it once. You will have to give them your SSN, show two forms of ID (DL + casino player card works), and get your picture taken. At both Station and Cantor your casino player card # will be your login (Cantor this is optional since they are not a part of the casino, but ideal so you can remember it), at Leroy's it is some made up number.

Edit: My "You only have to do it once" is wrong. You actually have to go back every time you renew your DL. Station will block your account 14 days before your DL expires. I think the others wait until the day it actually expires, until you show your new ID.
