Default Online Poker with Vegas Prizes

I have been playing this new site from Golden Nugget online poker where it is just for residents of US only. Someone was asking about online poker earlier and although it won't be an option for cash accounts and deposits yet until it is passed by Senate it has prize only tournaments: 7:30 Daily Nugget tournaments Mon - Fri where you can win gift certs to Landry's LV restaurants/casinos and then on Sat and Sun the top three people at the 7:30 pm Saturday and Weekly tournaments win 2 nites at the Golden Nugget AND a show AND dinner. The last couple weeks there are only about 15 people playing so odds are great and who the heck doesn't want to head down to Fremont with these freebies. I just wish I'd quit being the Bubble Queen.

I don't thunk I would ever play online poker for money (prizes, like you mentioned, sure, as long as there is no risk to me) but at the rate banks, govt. institutions, and other "secure" websites get hacked, I'd never trust the game. Some script kiddie with a little VB under his belt could probably hijack the game and no one would be the wiser until it was too late.

The threats for cheating come from within the companies, not from random players or script kiddies. There have been one or two scandals in this regard, but generally speaking, these places are pretty serious about running a straight game.

I played online for several years. Playing .10/.25 pot limit holdem at Bodog in my spare time covered the payment on my Jeep every month for about two years.

While it is possible a game could be hacked, I can assure you it would take much more than a vb programmer with some scripting skills.
