Bouchon celebrates Bastille Day in Napa every year -- pig and lamb roast, and many specials. You could call and see what the Las Vegas store has going. My guess is "not a whole lot."

By and large, locals do not dine at the higher-end Strip restaurants. So there's no reason for them to create a Bastille Day special. (Other than the fact it keeps the cooks and chefs happy. A break from the "same 'ol.")

Don't know about dinner per se, but I just checked online and they do have a special Bastille Day Happy Hour menu/celebration:

Bouchon - Las Vegas Restaurants - The Venetian - Resort, Hotel, Casino.

We might have eaten oysters your kid shucked. We were there two months ago and ordered the seafood tower. Way too hot now to eat outside, but in May it was just about perfect. Surprisingly, the shrimp were a little pastey, but everything else was fine.

This was my salad:

That all looks wonderful!

Anyone have any opinions on La Cave at the Wynn?

This past weekend, we ate at Emerils, Mon Ami Gabi, and Rao's. Interestingly, all these are transplants from other cities. I enjoyed all of them, and recommend any of these without doubt. My wife rates restaurants by Cosmos and feels Rao's has one of the best.

I ended up going to Julianno Serrano in the Aria. And it was absolutely fantastic! Definitely one of my favorite restaurants. I will make a it a habit to go here every time I visit!

Mon Ami Gabi was four blocks from my house in Bethesda, next door to a multiplex independent movie theater that we frequented. We went a few times before or after movies, but it was always meh. As a result, we've never bothered going to the one here in Vegas. In an area known for its restaurants, Mon Ami Gabi has never been considered one of the better ones in Bethesda. Perhaps the one here is better.

Glad you found a restaurant you like and had a good time on your birthday.

I would agree about the food. My sea bass was probably 3 stars (out of 5), slightly overcooked, however my wife's roasted chicken was very good, 4 stars. The frites were also delicious. It was 104 degrees and, I was reluctant to sit outside but was encouraged by the hostess and found it very comfortable. One of the reasons we enjoyed the restaurant was the view of Bellagio and the fountains and also people-watching.

Emeril's is noted for its banana cream pie but we didn't order dessert. Unfortunately, we're at that age of calorie reduction.

Rao's is one of the more popular NY Italian establishments. The meatballs were one of the best as was the house salad. I enjoyed their signature dish, Lemon Chicken, although my son thought it was slightly too lemony.

I've been going to Ri Ra Irish pub at Mandalay Bay mmm like 3 times in the past month! I don't like fish fry, or eat beef, but the fish and chips and the Guiness Beef Stew are their specialties. I've had the irish sausages wrapped in phyllo w/ spicy mustard sauce as an appetizer. The Kilcooly sandwich which is deli turkey, irish cheddar, sliced apples, cranberry mayo, and greens. The chicken foccacia sandwich with rocket, sun-dried tomatoes, and peppers. The Irish Mac and Cheese with chicken added in. All were fantastic. Prices are well, strip restaurant pricing, but it's worth it. I've never tried rice pudding before because it sounds just vile to me, and I don't think pudding should be chunky with a starch in it, but i tried it this past weekend, and it was fabulous!
If you're there later in the evening for dinner, they have entertaining band that play, normally in the bar area up front, hard to hear a conversation over that noise while eating dinner, but still a lot of fun. Just request the far back room.
