I have noticed that since MOVING to Las Vegas, My gambling luck has decreased.
I am not sure, if it is because I now play Less as a local, or just Las Vegas Knows they have me!

Anyone notice this?

Jonathan

And I thought it was just me!!! Used to always win when I visited - not even once since I move here!

Same thing here. I won pretty consistently till I moved here. Usually enough to pay for the trip if you included our comps.

Maybe it's because I play less over a longer period of time?

I once read Bob Stupak's book "Win!"

The beginning of the short book gives the perspective of the gaming industry from a casino owner. That was interesting reading. The end of the book supposedly shows people how to gamble smart. Stupak's advice? Optimal play. Bet small when you're on a losing streak. Bet big on a winning streak.

That's it. Complete rubbish.

If you're going to play, learn how to play poker. It's the only game in the casino with any hope of winning with any kind of consistency. Why? Because you're playing against the other players, not the house.

If you play the house backed games and win, they're going to throw you out. Ask card counters.
