I know there are several areas where there are older, 1960-1970's houses in Vegas. What are the streets/areas they are located and what are the neighborhoods now like, any that are being rehabilitated or are still good?

Most are still good......the area west of Jones and North of Alta [Charleston Heights] was developed by Sproll Homes in the early 60's. The neighborhoods are very nice altho there are a lot of rental properties there.....I own a house there and love the area

I would agree with Charleston Heights...except that you have to look at that area block by block. Some are perfectly fine and even getting better....others are over-rented and deteriorating badly.

There is also the area between Sahara or DI and 95 west of 15. This gets into some very ritzy in areas but also has some quite nice tracts at 250K up price points.

Then there is Huntridge and Parks east of the stratosophere. Pretty nice and gentrifying quickly. I believe these go back to the 50s. Very nice actually.

Out to the east there are a number of very nice older neighborhoods along Pecos and such. Same rules as Charleston Heights...block by block variablity.

As olecapt said, there's some older areas in the east that are still OK. My MIL lives north of Trop between Eastern and Spencer in Royal Crest Rancheros, and there are some nice homes in there. I've never seen a kid there, though, so if you're moving in with kids, be prepared for them to be very lonely.

The Paradise Palms neighborhood is a great one in terms of architecture from this era. Between Maryland and Eastern and between Desert Inn and Flamingo.
