1. I'll be launching a new information products (internet) business, and was looking at office spaces to rent in Las Vegas (tax purposes) when the idea hit me, why not just move out there and work from home? I am currently living in Dallas, but have no real ties here as I am recently divorced, and just sold my previous company.

Because I'll be working from home, the area in which I live is very important to me:
I love outdoor activities (hiking, running, biking)
Must be new/clean/well maintained
Some sort of greenery is always nice (palm trees, parks, etc)
Nearby golf courses

Would Summerlin, Centennial Hills, or another area be the best fit for me?

2. My girlfriend, who I have not yet asked, will most likely be moving with me. She is a preschool of about 5 years. How hard would it be for her to find work out there?

Obviously, I can support her for a few months if need be, but I'd much prefer not to have to for more than a few months. Is that a realistic amount of time to find a job at a preschool? I've heard horror stories, and don't want to set her up for failure.

Thanks.

Summerlin has the best trail system and plenty of parks. You would love it. Plenty of green there in the older part. Less in the newer part by Providence, but it's still so new, so give it time. Close to Red Rock.

Aliante where I live, has a good trail system, but not as good as Summerlin. Plenty of parks, a really nice golf course.

Centennial Hills is a great place to live. Don't know about a trail system there though. But you are closer to Mount Charleston for hiking.

Don't have a clue about schools though. Someone else will chime in about that.

If you meant to say preschool teacher, $9 an hour, lousy opportunities. My wife has been one for 20+ years.

I'm with Pink on this one. The Summerlin area has great parks and trails and you are close to the Lakes and Desert Shores if you get a hankering for a lake to ride / walk by. There is plenty of golf out there, too. The preschools here are always hiring it seems. Mainly because it's a bit of a dead-end job as Airics mentioned.

Centennial Hills is fine, but I think you'd like Summerlin better, given your criteria.

Another vote for Summerlin. Parts of it sit on a hill side with about a 600 elevation gain...makes a popular bicycling course.

Pre-school teachers are always in demand and mostly badly paid as Airics pointed out.
