A noble ideal. But one that doesn't really square with reality. Millions -- and I mean HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS -- of animals die each year during the harvest of the crops that are considered "vegan."

Unless someone grows and hand picks all of their food, animals died. There's really no tapdancing around this. In order for each of us to live, other animals must die. The exception is the hard core fruititarians who can stand up and proudly say, "I pick fruit from trees every day by hand and eat that. Nothing else."

That's funny. We have a mini-Aussie and she's the same way. She'll start at one end of the half-acre and go for it full-bore chasing a bird. And here all along, we thought she learned it from our Sheltie.
