Nope, they are here too although the more dangerous ones are imported from AZ. My pest guy today did a really intensive spray with chemical inside and out. He said that I have black widows throughout the front and back yard which means scorpions too as they feed on the same food source. I don't have an infestation issue so if we can kill the pests we can get rid of the scorpions.

Best of luck to you on getting rid of both of them. I don't like either.
Do you know if they are a problem in all areas? Or is it just hit and miss?

I'm in Aliante in North Las Vegas. In 13 years i have never seen one single scorpion. Before living over here for the past 8 1/2 years, we lived in The Lakes, next to Summerlin and Peccole Ranch. Never saw any scorpions there either. I think they are just in certain parts of the valley. One of those hit and miss kind of things.

Is there something you can get from one of the big box hardware stores or even a homemade concoction that you could spray yourself? Maybe the pest control guys have a tight union and dont allow those things to be sold to the general public?

No union, lol. But we have to be licensed with the state which you have to test for, and take classes throughout the year. The products we treat with are dangerous if not used the right way, that is why you have to be licensed to be able to buy them.

There are products that can be bought at Home Depot or Lowes, but do not have the lasting effect as the products we use and of course are not as strong as the products we have.

Bug Bully, Your thoughts on products like diatomaceous earth? I grow food in my garden and I'm resistant to spraying chemicals around my property, but the ants are crazy this year.

DE is actually great for scorpions, we did use it for scorpions, but have found a better products. For ants a good thing outside are granules or a bait.
