BTW: Unemployment INSURANCE benefits are no more a "dole" than having your medical bills paid for by your health insurance. "Dole" suggests it is something like welfare and paid for by taxpayers. It isn't. It's like group insurance paid by the employer in case he can no longer provide any work for you. There are strict rules to follow if you need to file a claim for being laid off.

Years ago I was a member of the Sporting House Gym on Industrial RD. I saw a lot of them in there, including Shark and the whole Rebels B-Ball team that won the Final Four.

One night Rodney Dangerfield came out of the shower stark naked. I wanted to say to him, "I see why you get no respect," but I didn't have the guts. I'm still kicking myself for passing up such an opportunity.

Another time a buddy from West Virginia was passing through town and was only here for one evening. He asked if there was any way we could see Sinatra, but it was way too late to get a reservation. So I said you wanna see Sinatra, I'll show you Sinatra. So I took him to the Sands where it was common knowledge that after his show, Ole Blue Eyes and his entourage always had a hamburger in the coffee shop. So we got there a few minutes before the end of the show and hung out. In a couple of minutes here he came with his daughter Nancy, Tommy Sands, and a bunch of others who all stopped right by us and spoke to friends and fans. My buddy was impressed with life in Las Vegas.

Alan Parsons, Al Stewart, Joe Jackson, the two gents from Wang Chung. I've also cooked food for damned near everyone. But I never meet them. I'm hoping to meet Fagen and Becker from Steely Dan.
