Well, I have been unemployed for quite a while now. It really sucks. I am being considered for a great job that I really want, but there are a lot of other people being considered as well. I really hope I get this job.. Please send good wishes my way.. It is an office job with a lot of opportunity to learn and grow..
I was just wondering: how hard is it to become employed as a cocktail waitress at a casino? I am young, attractive, lots of energy, with a strong work ethic. I have no hospitality or restaurant experience. I do have customer service experience, (store clerk for one year), as well as other jobs that could kind of tie in, but well, not really.. How important is job stability to casinos? My job history now... probably doesn't look so good. I know they wouldn't want to train someone they feel would just leave soon anyway. Knowing someone is very important right? The difference between getting the job, or helping out A LOT, right? All right.. What are my chances? What would help? Getting more job stability? Anyone in 'the know' who can give me any pointers, perspectives on the work? Thanks so much! |

With no experience, start with a smaller joint and gain experience so you can move up to a bigger one......

I'd say your chances are far better if you've had "enhancements" that if you haven't- that seems to be a prerequisite in most of the casinos.....lol.

I personally have found it really difficult, but I'm taking a new tack: new color eyeshadow, adding a new wiggle to the way I walk in high heels, and I sing AC/DC's "Highway to Hell" really loudly every morning in the shower to help lower my voice a bit before I report to work. SEXXXXY!

Enhancements are required in the better joints....but the small places have a 'let em sag' policy

Do the Casinos feel that having sexy waitresses leads to more drinking, which in turn leads to more money being spent on the slot machines and at the tables? Or is it, as I said earlier, just an image thing? I’ve seen older less attractive waitresses in some of the local casinos, but even they dress provocatively. Why is that necessary? I’m not complaining, I’m just wondering. |
