Generally, K-9 is referred to as "Walking Back to Houston". Why? If you play it too often, you'll be walking back to Houston ... also, K-Q is often referred to as mom & dad, royalty or the royal couple.

Also, a few in addition:
A-Q - big chick

J-K offsuit - The Bachelor (Sound it out ... J-K off)

6-9 - big lick or "Happy Meal". I'll leave it to the audience to figure this one out ...

J-8 - The Jeffrey Dahmer. What did Dahmer do? He ate Jack.

J-4 - Motown. Even tho J-5's the original motown, the day after Michael Jackson died someone at my table won a had with 2 pair, Jacks & Fours. He announced "I've got Motown, Jacks & Fours." Someone else quipped that wasn't Motown. His response? "It is now." Ouch.

5-6 suited - Asian Aces. I won a big pot with this hand in Chicago & my asian friend announced "Dude, you've got Asian Aces." I suppose he was purporting a stereotype that asians like to gamble or something ...

3-4 suited - The Lindsay Lohan. Why? Because it briefly looks attractive, but then you realize any way you look at it it's still trash.

3-3 - Crabs

I lived by Deadwood for 5 years. You win 25% of the bad beat jackpot if you get the true dead man's hand. It is two black aces, two black 8's, and the 9 of diamonds. As of a year ago, it had only happened 4 times.

Good thing for ol' West lore that Hickok wasn't holding 7,6,5,4,2. Also, I thought the last card was a jack of some sort? According to legend, at least. Nobody knows for sure.

The legend in Deadwood is that his kicker was obscured and nobody knows for sure. There is debate about it but the majority feel it was the 9 of diamonds for whatever reason and that is the hand Saloon #10 uses for their jackpot. The aces and 8's were for sure clubs/spades. I do not think there is any debate about that.

Wild Bill Hickok died in Saloon #10, although the Saloon #10 has since moved a block down Main Street across the street. They still have the chair he was sitting in near their main bar.
