Default Honeymoon in Vegas

My fiance are planning to go to Vegas for our Wedding and Honeymoon.
We will have a few friends and fam there for the wedding then stay
there for another 5-6 days. Our plan is too sit by the pool, sightsee,
eat, party, gamble. shop etc.

Questions?

- Is 7+ Days too long to stay in vegas if you have never been?

-Is Monte Carlo nice (pool area) location wise etc.?? With a suite.

-Is May a good month for Sun, pool weather, but bareable??

We have done the Beach thing and want to go to Vegas when we
can do it BIG !!

Most people think it is a bad idea, but I am not convinced...what could
be bad about living in Vegas for 8 days>>??? Or is it just too hectic and
crowded for honeymooning. Any Vegas suggestions or insight would
be appreciated from people who know good current scoop on these issues

THanks

I love Vegas. The hotel is nice, it is one of the newer ones so you are okay there. There is PLENTY to do in the area (take a tour of the Hoover Dam). One thing that it has going for it is that you can lay out by the pool all day and then go in freshen up and get ready to hit the town and not feel like you missed something as the party is 24/7 in Vegas. My favorite times to be in the casinos are after midnight. After the workers are all done w/ the shows and such and they hit the tables. GREAT people watching for sure. You don't have to get decked out to The Nines either but it is a place you can dress up in some nice After 5 clothes and hit the town and fit in no matter where you go. After planning a wedding and dealing w/ the family (or families) having somewhere to just chill is great and out by the pool at a nice place is a great way to go. Then being that it is your honeymoon while you are out for the evening it is like your all alone as a couple even though there are 1000's of people all around you. What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas .

What to do:
1. Relax by the pool. ALL DAY Get a private cabana one day
2. Spend one day walking on one side of the strip in and out of all of the casinos and shops. Lots of great shops in the casinos and some have their own mall.
3. Spend another day walking down the other side of the strip visiting the casinos. You have to go into the Bellagio. The fresh flowers alone are worth it.
4. The light and water show at night at the Bellagio.
5. The pirate ship show at Treasure Island
6. Gondola ride at the Venetian
7. Tour Hoover Dam
8. Tour of Ethel M's Chocolates
9. Visit the M&M and Coke store on the strip, next to the MGM
10. Visit Freemont St at night and see the light show.

These are just a few ideas.
Congrats

I don't know about Monte Carlo, I haven't stayed there. I would say that May would be a good month, it shouldn't be too hot yet. 7+ days will definately be fine; I love LV I could stay there a lot longer than that! In fact, I'll be there all summer!

Congratulations on your wedding! My husband and I also eloped from Michigan and got married in Vegas 12 years ago. That long of a trip is a bit long if all you plan to do is stay in the casinos and gamble. However, it's not too long if you plan other exciting things - like a tour to the grand canyon, over to Red Rock, Hoover Dam, etc. There are a lot of charter tours you can take. If you do some of those and take in some shows you will have a great time and it won't be too long. And the Monet Carlo is great! May will very warm so you will get there before things really heat up.

Good luck! I wish you the success and happiness we have!

Bring lots of sunscreen. You will have a great time. Get out and take some tours and see whatever interests you. There is a lot to do in the area.

And do go tour the chocolate factory on Mountain Vista. Ethel M. The gardens are so impressive and the chocolate is darn good too.

Great input, thanks!!! Waverunners on lake Meade definately sounds great!

I wanted to take a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon, but she is too
scared of that. Probably a little risky safety wise too.

You can take a bus tour to the Grand Canyon. It's also breathtaking. It's a day trip, you'll be picked up and dropped off at your hotel. You'll love it!
