just wanted some insight from the locals. I plan on moving to vegas in late february early march. by march I should have around 6 or 7k in savings. I will be traveling light and the total for gas will be ~$400. I will take food and drinks with me in the vehicle so dont have to worry about that on the way there.

option A

When I arrive I stay with family memebrs in their spare bedroom. I will stay there until I land a job and can afford to get my own place.

option b

when I arrive have a place already lined up for around $500-$700 a month near my family members and eat with them to save money. I have been applying for any and every job there but I know its hard to land one without the proper work cards and obv the local address is important. My family members all have steady jobs and they told me it is pretty easy to get a job. they can hook me with jibs so im thinking option b is better due to not having rules or if I want to stay up late I wont have to worry about disturbing anyone.

I have been to vegas a bunch and just absolutely like it there. So much stuff to do and obv poker is huge since im about 3 hours away from any casino and I like the live grind better than online.

any advice will be helpful

thanks in advance

Answer: Yes. It is enough. But it won't last as long as ten thousand will. If you have 4 thousand cash and another 6 thou in credit, you might be able to buy yourself some time to look for a decent job...

Just stay away from the East side if you know what's good for you. That is to say if you're looking for a calm, safe place to land - it may not be your cup of tea.

also, I live in Illinois and im dead smack in the ghetto. both my neighbors are black but very very nice people. I look over their places and they look over mine. Im not too worried about location but in a new city such as las vegas I would like to stay away from the real bad parts like the east side. Im just looking for a cheap apartment around $500 a month which I know is very limited but las vegas drunk says he stays next to the police station for $415..Im trying to find this location as $415 would work out well for my budget if I decide not to stay with my family very long.

I would stay with your family and save your cash until you find a job. Plus, until you're here for a little while, you may not know what side of town you want to settle in. Just my thoughts

Your inclusion of "but" sounds as if you think "black" and "very nice people" are mutually exclusive.

Sheesh.

lol My 3 closest friends are black. I was just making a point that I am not worried about where crime is and where it isn;t in vegas. It is everywhere just like many people have said. I need to make a trip out there and start applying for jobs or apply online and use my familys address maybe?
