This is not the same good old Las Vegas anymore. Both me and my wife are very disappointed and I don't think we will visit again. Las Vegas is like a cheap Zoo now. My wife felt very unsafe walking down the strip. Demographics of visitors has changed drastically. Young adults drunk or on drugs everywhere. Shady characters all over the place. Homeless people are asking for money everywhere, people hustling for a dollar. This town is truly promoting sex and alcohol to our young adults and every casino floor looks like a glorified strip club with those party pits all over the place and young girls dancing half naked. You can't even find decent mature casino dealers anymore just young girls in half naked uniforms.
I feel sorry for all those hard working mature adult casino workers who are getting replaced by those young girls who probably got those jobs without any experience just for the age and looks. Terrible.

Las Vegas wasn't like this before. It seems this is a town now just for college kids and young adults who are waisting their money savings for those stupid nightclubs and bars.
Alcoholic drinks are expensive as well compared to just few years ago. $12 per mix drink....no thank you.

Thank you Las Vegas but this is our last visit. We felt very unsafe and misplaced.
At least the meth problem has all but been cleaned up.

Someone asked above so I will answer that we stayed at Caesar's Palace.
I understand that economic environment has changed dramatically and Las Vegas had to adapt but this new face is just not appealing to us and I'm pretty sure to many other mature couples as well. It's very obvious now that people don't come to Las Vegas for gambling. I don't remember how many times we were approched by those nightclub promoters offering free passes last night. They are everywhere. Every street bridge that we crossed had homeless people asking for money. We were on Freemont street on Friday and that was definitely a biggest shock that we experienced. Its nice that many downtown properties have invested some money and updated their properties but again it's the same picture like on the strip. Party pits and half naked girls are everywhere. All small casinos replaced their workers with young girls. I remember before only Golden Nugget had some kind of portable bar outside on Freemont street and now those bars are all over the place and every casino has them. Young girls dancing half naked and selling alcohol. I noticed many individuals dressed in costumes trying to make a dollar, someone even using plastic buckets as a drums.

We enjoyed new Caesars Bacchanal buffet at our hotel.

Weird.

99% of my time at the Strip is spent INSIDE a casino where none of that ugliness exists, so what's the problem?

I agree with logline. We spend little time walking "The Strip". There are drunks, druggies, and beggars in every city. We see it for what it is and don't let it deter us from the world class restaurants, shows, and hotels. Viva Las Vegas.

Well...if enough of you "old school" Vegas people had come often enough and spent enough it never would have had to change it's draw now would it?

So the kiddies come here to frat it up.... so be it....the green speaks! THEY were louder than you! Deal with it....we have!

We always rent a vehicle and drive the back roads into parking lots. I haven't walked the strip in years.

Party pit girls (dealers) are supposed to attract more (young) people into casino. But they don`t.
In my casino we have around 30 party pit girls and 70% of them dont look preaty at all.
Worst thing is many of them dont have any good personality, they dont talk, dont smile, and players are not leaving them tip, which they share with us,regular dealers.
If we,regular (older) dealers, dont smile to players we can get writen up, if they, partypit girls dont smile to players nobody is going to tell them anything.
But hey, bosses are happy, more young girls in their casino means more chances for them to find a girlfriend.

But yes ,vegas is changed, more young people comes here . Dont understand about drunks, druggies and beggars on strip, if i remember 10-20 years ago situation was almost the same.

The guy says all the rest is a war zone, but to be honest, I understand the concept. These other areas suffer from an apparent lack of integrity where community is concerned. And of course, the crime that follows...which knows no bounds around the valley.

After all transience breeds crime, to a degree...And why not be afraid of surroundings that simply do not feel safe, in your own bones?

By the by I have't been to all these other safe places because quite simply I can't afford the overpriced rates, which should say MUCH.

Thank you Maroini888 for your post and inside info on how those party pit work. You are absolutely right when you say that those young girls are unfriendly and not that good looking. It's sad that industry has done such a dramatic change where they hire inexperienced girls instead of older mature work force. I mean what is your future in Las Vegas as a Casino worker? You can be replaced any day with someone who is just over 21 and willing to wear those half naked uniforms.

Me and my wife enjoy walking especially at night before we go to sleep. In the past we had no problem walking down the strip and we never felt unsafe but this weekend was different. We didn't feel safe at all. I don't know it seems like Las Vegas caters more to young party adults these days, we are not into that and find it frankly annoying. Food and Beverage prices have gone up big on the strip. When I was playing slots inside our Casino party people where everywhere, not very pleasant experience.
