Very honest post.

My uncle told me stories about back in the late 80s and 90s when he would command the craps table, receive the VIP treatment from everyone and eat like a king for only a couple grand.

Then he came back in 2005. No special treatment whatsoever. He was just some old geezer being shuffled around with the rest of the boomers. Didn't matter if he was playing penny slots or or $1000 a hand black jack.

No, they can and do. Just because of the geography, they don't get concentrated into certain spots, like they do on the strip.

Maybe if we open up the strip to about 10 square miles of entertainment instead. So much would slip through the cracks.

You guys have porn slappers, too?

They are starting to get tired of them around here. When all else fails, call in the FBI and the IRS.

There are guys standing on street corners handing out ad cards for strip clubs. But we have so many street corners for them to populate, that they get diluted. And, also, there just don't seem to be as many of them.

In Manhattan, I think most of the strip club patrons are likely repeat customers (guys who work there, who hit the places at lunch or after work), so there isn't quite the need to recruit new customers. This is as opposed to Vegas, where they need to pull in tourists.

Our porn slappers aren't just promoting strip clubs. They are promoting "Girls direct to your room" escort services that are fronts for illegal prostitution. Since prostitution is legal in rural Nevada brothels, there is a big misconception that hookers are legal in Vegas.

Personally, it's none of my business, but I do wish the porn slappers would stop bugging our tourists. We need our visitors and pissing them off helps no one.

I agree and I am a tourist. I don't care for this on the strip.

I've never seen anyone handing out ads for hookers. I have seen them in the back pages of some publications (Village Voice, NY Magazine).

The county tried to ban them, and ran it all the way up the legal flagpole to the Supreme Court. No dice. Somehow this is considered protected speech.

The rub is and has always been that you cannot ban based on content. You can ban...but it must be universal. So if you ban the slappers you also end up banning any other panthlets on the Blvd.

I suspect the recent study will be used to ban any activity at the choke points and on the overpasses.
