Not me. I lit 'em up and burned those bridges down this last time.

OP, your resume needs a bit of work, but it's not really that horrible. I've seen much worse. Update it using the suggestions you've seen here. Go to Las Vegas News, Business, Entertainment Information - ReviewJournal.com and click on some job links, check monster.com and update your LinkedIn profile ( I'm assuming you have one, if you don't - get one). Work your contacts. Surely you know people from school. Google is also your friend. Research the job before you show up for the interview.

Best of luck.

^^^^^ Well, that's what MOST people do....I've had the "Take this job and shove it!" Exits too, but they aren't very prudent.

Nope, you're right. It wasn't the smartest move I ever made, but I did set the stage for a lawsuit by telling the truth in writing and I'm pretty sure they are just going to shut up about it if anyone calls to check my references.

OP, check United Healthcare's website as well as Steinberg Diagnostic. Those two companies are frequently hiring.

To the OP,

Cutting through the resume issues. What do you offer any potential employer that all of the other hordes of applicants (and I wouldn't be surprised if every open, advertised position in Vegas attracts a horde of applicants) don't? What specific skills and talents differentiate you? Are there any? If not, you need to work on developing them.

Also, have you tried doing any local networking. Have you gotten involved in other activites, just to meet people and develop connections that could lead to an inside tip on a job (getting around the horde)?

I know it is not a great job, but go to the Henderson Auto Mall and get a salesperson job. Usually they will give you a set pay for the first couple of months, like $2000 or $3000 then cut it back after you get the hang of it. That couple of months will get you by the dead season of car buying and then you may start making better money or find something else. I got a job at a dealership after my job at PH was merged with others and could not find anyhting else and make a decent living and the insurance is not that bad....at lkeast until I find something better
