60,000 is the absolute most it would hold, but its designed to be somewhat modular so smaller capacity events won't feel out of place either. With a good facility on campus and the better program which could result from it no reason to think UNLV couldnt regularly fill 30,000 seats and for these big traveling teams they play from the Big 10 or the Pac 12 they could have an occasional sell out. Teams wont come to UNLV because the small stadium hurts the payout but a big facility without the heat worries of playing in early September could change that. What they dont have and really should focus on is a better tailgating component. Sam Boyd's dirt lot isnt a draw, but every good college program has a very strong tailgating tradition and they should really figure it out.

Never have figured out how Wyoming got Texas to play a game in Laramie, given that their stadium is about a third the size of the one in Austin.

Pre-Season NFL games could be an option. Very large outside concerts? Could the thinking be to elevate the level of the Vegas Bowl, or even make a play for a Super Bowl?

I wonder if the NFL would allow games in Vegas considering their stance about betting on games.

They allow games in London where one can bet on the NFL in hundreds of places, they will find an excuse to have one in Vegas. Especially the preseason, they could easily get books in town to voluntarily not take bets on one game which books mostly wouldn't care to take much action on anyways.

This would be great for Las Vegas. If they built it with a retractable roof it could serve many functions.
I hope it is approved.

As it stands now, the super bowl has to be in a city that has an NFL team. We would have the weather and hospitality infrastructure that they require easily. Im not sure that people know how pervasive gambling is in England. There are "Vegas Style" casinos with table games, etc all over London and every town will have a betting shop as standard where people bet on horse races, rugby, cricket, and soccer from all over Europe. And though you have to ask at the desk, they do have all of the NFL games with all the wazoo bets. I would bet there are 20 within 2 miles of Wembley Stadium.
