I can seriously relate. I have had several minor setbacks on my road to Vegas. I am now chilling and saving even more money, which never hurts. I had a interview with the same job twice 6 months apart (they keep calling ME back). Also, a car Id rather have paid off before I relocate ( in case I do have to come out there jobless thats 1 less bill)...final payment in June!! Then, Im finally there! Hang in there, we are determined so for sure we will all be there!! This whole Vegas move thing is showing me that if I want somethong bad enough I will not give up....anything is possible in due time. Months away, still excited and ready for whatever!

BellaBabe, we seem to be on the same page. In fact all of this that has happened with our pets has forced my wife and I to take a step back. First move: We got them insurance. I don't know why but I never thought of that as a viable option, but it's not too expensive and it will cover any huge emergencies. Second thing is we're getting a few other things together. Part of the reason we were looking forward to the move so much was that we looked at it as "the start."
We're very unhappy with where we are right now and want to be closer to family, back in the west, and close to the options that we feel we'll have in LV.
Because we've been looking at the move as a whole new beginning we've been putting stuff off, necessary stuff, I won't get into all of it here because it's not really related to LV. So we have changed our goal setting. We need to get this and that taken care of and then continue saving up the money we need for the move. We figure we might be ready by the end of the year, that's what we're hoping for but we're not banking on any specific date. We're going to wait until we have enough money to make a smart move.
In the meantime my Mom's 60th B-day and my parent's anniversary are both falling in May, THEY are giving US a huge present by financing a family reunion in Las Vegas for a full week. So we'll take some time in May to drive around and look at areas and neighborhoods off the strip.
I work in an industry that I'm not thrilled with, lol, but have several years experience. In doing job searches I can always find open positions in Vegas and as we get closer to the move I'm going to start contacting different businesses in the hopes of setting up a slew of interviews when we move.

Anyway, we're really excited for this year, REALLY hoping that we can spend Christmas with our families in the PNW and NYE in LV and start living our lives as fulltime Las Vegas residents in January 2014.

Best of luck you BellaBabe

If you really want to do something, you'll find a way. If you don't, you'll find an excuse.

This motto got me here from Alabama, me and my wife saved up for a year, and there were obstacles we had to overcome. But I refused to be denied. Good luck man.
