Hi...
Ok here is the lowdown... I am moving out there I am an educated Paralegal (with Political Science and Paralegal Degrees...not certificates I am on my way to a Law Degree - just wanted to get that out there after I read the stupid post from the guy from the east coast. Not worried abut finding work. I have a 2 yr old (actually she will be three). I was a vic of ID theft and I went to court got the the whole mess dealt with filed charges blah blah blah ...well credit was shot SO I was able to get a new one from the SS administration through their ID theft victim program... SOOOOOO here I am 34 yrs old...and I actually had a score of 740 BEFORE the crime happened!! When I had it changed....512 horrible...NOW....with the new one it is NADA...nothing.... I do not want to get stuck in a hell hole apartment or paying 1800 a month at Sienna Suites (nice but damn the price ok ) So where can a woman go that needs a LARGE one bedroom or a smaller 2 bedroom that doesn't want to wear a bullet proof vest or explain what the oldest profession is to my daughter. I know Camden properties around here is great....but not sure there....any suggestions on the bus line for a few months without crime (or atleast not blatent) that is affordable (tell me areas N, NW S , SE SW etc etc - because that is what the apartmentguide type sites ask you ....) |

Check out apts in The Lakes and Summerlin area. (SW-NW))There are some nice apts on W.Sahara, between Grand Canyon and Hulapai that you would probably really like.
Also on Desert Inn between Durango and Hualapai. The bus runs in that area, and there are many nice apts there as well as condo's to rent. Prices are around $900 and up for a nice 1 bedroom. Usually the higher the rent, the less it will be a hellhole. It's a renter's paradise right now, many places to choose from. If you wanted a nice brand new place in the upper north valley, near where I live, in Aliante, check out the Presidio apts on Rome/Valley. Close to shopping within walking distance. Not on the bus line though. Las Vegas Nevada Apartments - Home - The Presidio |

No matter where you go in any apartment complex in town, you'll find a mixed bag of people....good, bad, ugly [couldnt pass that one up]
If you're planning on working in the legal profession, the majority of law offices are located downtown. There is a complex at 1700 Alta [the Mayan Plaza] I lived there about 8 years ago....they had a BEAUTIFUL one bedroom apt on the 2nd floor with frentch doors and a small patio off the bedroom and sliding doors to a larger patio from the living room.... The complex seems to consist mostly of Medical personel from the two hospitals down the street....I lived there for 6 years and was VERY happy with it. |

Look at the condo conversions. We rented a condo from an owner in a condo complex so all of our neighbors are owners. Not so many renters there and it is nice. Get ahold of a realtor who does property management and ask them.
If you are going to UNLV, I would recomend SE around Henderson. The trip from Summerlin to school is a nightmare. The trip from Henderson up on Horizon and Horizon Ridge only takes ten minutes. |

It's amazing how they all sound exactly the same and how LV attracts them like a magnet. Good luck, future attorney (with a UNLV law degree?) |

I just knew someone would chime in and attempt to make someone feel like crap!! Geez, there has to be some kind of humanity even in the most pathetic.
Heaven, please use your Ignore Feature for some of the folks. Looking through here over the past 6-12 months, there really are plenty of rental homes now if your interested in that. If not, many apartments that aren't 1700 a month in good (safe) living areas. Someone will help you out, and others will...well, they will just be themselves. GOOD LUCK TO YOU! |

A lot of rentals in nice areas for about 1000 a month actually. Just look online.

Maybe Gulfer is right...maybe I was a little too harsh on her. Let me try it again, a little nicer this time...
If you're serious about a law degree, there are much better (and prestigious) law schools than UNLV. If, on the other hand, you plan on being an ambulance chaser, then maybe, UNLV is quite good enough. And if you're serious about giving your daughter the best possible upbringing, there are much better places to raise a child than LV. If, on the other hand, you don't care about the quality of education, or watching your little girl cry her eyes out when her best friend(s) continue to move away, then maybe, LV is quite good enough. And finally, if you're serious about finding safe neighborhoods to live, there are much safer cities than LV. If, on the other hand, these other places are too boring and you're looking for more action, then maybe, LV is the place for you. |
