Probably that's where they came from in the first place. If they lost their job and their house they'd tend to go home.

Who said I wanted to move to Los Angeles? The only place in America that I like less than Las Vegas is Southern California.
When we relocate, it will likely be somewhere between Carmel and Vancouver. Haven't really decided yet.

Let's see? The population is aging, and the baby boomers are starting to retire. If you're retiring, money counts, but employment not so much. On that basis, Vegas doesn't look so bad (especially if you coming from SoCal, and want to be within driving range.)
