Yes, especially on the shoulder blades, I'd imagine. Yikes. Though some of the current pin-up models are heavily tatooed, like Sabina here,(http://www.crownsunglasses.com/sabrina/sabi10.jpg (broken link)), I've always preferred the authentic, bare-skinned look for myself. My tatoos are hidden along my mid section. The ribs are a killer.

Agreed...the tats so heavy like that remove the focus from the real beauty and add quite a bit of masculinity. Altho'...I find Kat Von D (LA Ink on Discovery Channel) to be very sexy with all her tats...tho' one could never classify her as pin-up or rockabilly.

She is workin' the pinup style on her show lead-in. In the white one-piece suit? She looks great. I hate her tattoos though. Most of them were gotten when she was quite a bit younger and the placement is all wrong. When she's in a bikini she looks dirty from a distance...I mean, really DIRTY...not 'dirty'. LOL

I would LOVE to have her shop artist, Hannah, do a pinup girl on my lower back.

Update from TOm Ingram: The ticket prices go up on March 22nd and also are likely to sell out before them. So if you want to get your tickets at 77.00, now is the time to do it.

Also, the Tiki Pool Party will take place at the Orleans this year...couldnt be a better pool for it.

The Orleans is selling out of rooms fast. The Gold Coast has been sold out. The Orleans had 250 rooms left as of yesterday and that ain't a whole lot.

Just to keep this thread going:

I have a pretty good handle on 'retro' hairstyles and style my hair in the manner of fourties and fifties glamor as often as I can. However, one style eluded me, that of the fourties wartime 'Victory Rolls' seen on Eva Peron and more recently, on Christina Aguilara in her 'Candyman' video.

Thank goodness for youtube. I simply typed in 'Victory Rolls' and several great how-to videos popped up that made the style extremely simple and fullproof. Also available were other vintage hairstyles of the day and easy pin-up makeup tips.

Good tips for good gals, even if you're not hitting the tiki pool party on the 13th of April!

The Weekender was the best ever! We took our six month old and still had a brilliant time! Check out my trip report here: Learn the Big Apple! The Ray Collins Hot Club was the highlight act and is my new favorite group! And husband and I got to scout around the area for possible places we might want to relocate. Boulder City was great. We loved the 'old west' feel of the quaint downtown area.

Tom Ingram is planning to move the event from the Gold Coast starting next year, however. The car show was rediculously over-crowded. The South Point might be the venue of choice but The Orleans is not yet out of the picture. The tiki Pool Party on the 13th was fantastic at the Orleans...we had a ball. But even there, the crowd was out of control. I believe the South Point has more show space and more pool space.

Viva Las Vegas!
