I'd report it to the police right way (obviously too late for this incident.) I'd press them to get the video from the casino (because, as was the case in this incident), they DO have it on video.

It's not the first time this skell has done this. It's somewhat likely he's interacted with them before. If they can get his face, they can probably figure out who it is, and run him down. They may want to be lazy about it, but if you push them right after it happened, they might do some work.

If the person who stole the jacket was a rated poker player ie: playing with a players card for comps, they would have all his info. They could run the tape back to him playing at another table and get his info from there. At the very very least he should be trespassed.

Funny how they can not figure out who this is but if he was cheating the casino they would know him in a second and let all of the other casinos know also.

My son had his computer stolen, along with the calendar/log of upcoming gigs and all his the band's money. It was taken from a barstool right beside him at a casino in Reno a few years back where 4 of them sat having a beer. Security wasn't too cooperative as they probably didn't think a group of young men in a band were spending money gambling in their casino...which was true..They just stopped for a quick meal and a drink and thought their computer and band money was safer in the casino than out in the van. They called the police and did report it. With some pressure the casino did look at the tapes and it identified a resident that they recognized and it appeared the bartender may of been in on it as it looked like he got all of their attention while sitting at the bar while the other guy snuck up and grabbed it. Not sure of details and how they identified the thief as they just called my son about 2 weeks later. A search warrant was apparently issued and they found a small portion of the Canadian money at the residence a few days later in the bag and sent it to my son but was never able to recover the Mac Notebook.
