Yep. Here is the law on that:

Can I park or store a vehicle in the street?
It is unlawful to abandon or park a vehicle in the street for more than 72 consecutive hours. Moving a vehicle every three (3) days a few feet will not avert a violation. To report vehicles parked on the street, call Parking Enforcement at 229-6432.

Ah, I see. You violate the law and the blame belongs to the government employee charged with enforcing the law.

If you don't like the law, work to change it.

Yes.

PARKING -- Vehicles parked at a residence must be operable. Trailers, RVs, campers and boats belonging to the property owner may be parked on his or her property but cannot obstruct public right-of-ways, sidewalks, streets or alleys or any sight zone. Vehicles may be parked on a public street for up to 72 hours. They must be operable and have current plates and registration.

Code Requirements

Not at all. Its just that these people do this all the time and take up many parking spots in front of a few houses. And come on, cars sitting for 6 months at a time, plus he has cars on his driveway and the side of his house.

If its legal- im ok with it, Illegal- no good!

I wonder if any of those laws are ever enforced since you see the violations all over town all the time. I can't believe some of those are even on the books, especially in the county.

I have no problem with someone parking for 72 DAYS so long as its in front of their house.....

Sounds like another "loophole law," only enforced when they want to harass someone who otherwise isn't breaking any laws.

Who is this mysterious "they"?

A much more plausible scenario is that the law is enforced when a neighbor or neighbors complain, similar to the situation described by the OP:

In this case "they" are neighbors complaining.

In the spirit of live and let live, being annoying shouldn't be illegal. There are other ways to deal with it. Maybe try talking to the criminal car owner?
