Being new to the area I am missing one of my favorite cuisines. Any suggestions for an Indian restaurant?

I am no Indian, so I am not sure of the authenticity of the food...

But, Try origin India, Mt.Everest, India Oven etc.

Do not go to Tamba or Gandhi (same owners and shared kitchen) they were shut down for few days by Clark County Health dept for unclean and roach infested kitchen!

None of the food is "authentic" lol. Origin India uses better ingredients. They have a buffet I want to try for around $10. Can't speak about the other restaurants.

I really enjoyed "Gaylord's" at the Rio when I was last there. Been a couple years, maybe three. Great Indian food.

India Masala at the Riviera food court has been the best I've tasted in town. Sure it's a food court outlet, but the taste and amount they give for your money beats all others.

I've tried Ghandhi, Tamba, Mt. Everest, Origin and many others in town but none comes close to India Masala. They even have thali's (mini buffet on a plate) that are the best value.

Anybody tried Saffron...Craig road west of 95. We hit it after it initially opened and liked it...but then it got into a big deal about the immigration people not letting their chef back in and it closed down. I think it again open. Might be worth a try...

India Masala at the Riviera is expensive. They have high rents there. From what I've tasted it's fast food quality (nothing to go out of your way for) in a styrofoam container.

India Masala has opened a new branch on Flamingo just east of the strip. It is a full serve restaurant and is pretty good. I also like India Palace on East Desert Inn. Maybe try these ones?

Actually, scratch that...apparently it closed last April.
