My monthly bills here in vegas are only 300 more than they were in the tiny town I moved from. If I hadn't traded in my focus for the truck I'd be paying 100 less a month to live in vegas.

1800 a month in wilson vs 2100 a month in vegas.
I went from a 331 payment to a 715 payment.

I've looked into cost of living all over. It's pretty damn cheap here.

Thanks for point out the nice areas, before I just search for henderson in zillow, I see a nice house I don't know if it's good or bad area heh, but now I know.

Summerlin and Henderson they are mostly for families huh? how about minorities %, or anything else you can tell me about them. I read somewhere that for single people SW vegas is good, but I think I will just stick with good areas.

So can you list some nice areas outside those 2 cities? thanks
Summer in Florida is much worse imo. The humidity is a deal killer for me. 110 here equals 85 there without the sweat.

I was just offered a promotion for 3 stores. About 25% pay increase. Turned it down...why? Vancouver Canada. Cost of living is insane. Almost as bad as NYC. Vegas is cheap!

Beautiful vibrant city to live in in my opinion. But what's the point is you don't have any extra $ to experience it.

Are you underwater on the truck? I don't suppose you can sell it and get yourself out of the loan?

Maybe you did this, but I'd show them the numbers on the cost of living difference, and ask the to adjust the raise to take that into account.

I want the truck and intend to use it for a business. I'm underwater for sure. It will pay for itself soon.

Interesting. I received an incredible job opportunity in Alberta Canada from a recruiter that would quadruple my pay. The catch: it was located in Fort McMurray oil fields. Constant -40 degree weather, man camp living, fly in/fly out life style, 14 days off/14 on. 12-14 hours a day.

Accommodations/benefits- free food, free housing, $45-67 an hour, double time after 44 hours, bonuses and free flights to Calgary with flight per diem.

I just need to look into how taxes work for living in the US and working in Canada and how to balance AF reserves.

My wife says NO so far.

You continue to pay income tax on ANY income generated, here or abroad, while a U.S. citizen.
