For me, specifically..
I'll be 20 and on a relatively tight income. A nice, SAFE apartment complex is important to me, however it can't be super expensive. As long as it's a safe area (I'll be living alone& am a small female) that's pretty nice, I'm happy.

Also, if you don't mind, what are some things I should be aware of moving to Vegas? Coming from Kentucky. Aware there will be some big differences.

Sorry if this was vague, but thanks to everyone who answers

**School-no
Working-in a gym (I'm assuming there will be a good amount out there)
Budget-flexible, but low at first--as stated
Hobbies-not important, I can always find something
Why-beautiful, have heard good things about living there
I hate Kentucky.
Savings-yes. Not going to touch them, though, so not important.
Heat-not from Vegas specifically, but love heat&despise humid conditions
Transportation-yes, I have a car
Family&friends-I have zero strings here in Kentucky. My family has friends w/ a lot of money who have condos out there. Possible contacts if needed help.

Bottom line-I just asked what the safe areas are. Please.

Where you live is likely to depend on where you work...particularly the side of the city. So go for a short term or weekly place until you decide that.

There are lots of young people complexes. South strip... Henderson...Summerlin...SW...NW...Many are gated and generally safe from everything except getting stuff stolen from your car. That proves to be a problem in virtually all non garage complexes.

I agree. Job and entertainment opportunities are vastly more limited if you are under 21.

It sounds as if you don't yet have a job but assume you'll be able to get one easily because there are lots of gyms here. Be aware that many, many people have moved here thinking that finding a job would be easy and have been very surprised and disappointed when that didn't happen. I'm not saying it can't happen, but you should be prepared that it might not.

If possible, apply for jobs in Las Vegas online from Kentucky, and if you get hired, decide then where to live. It's easier to get hired if you're already living here, but it's not impossible to get hired if you're not here yet.

Good luck.

There's this area called Naked City. It's at the north end of the strip, right near the Stratosphere Tower. It should be very affordable, and quite convenient.

Then again, how much do you value your life?
