You might be able to get it for free if you're persistent. If not, they're available on eBay for about half of the cost.
My house has weak Verizon though we prefer it as we are RE agents and Verizon works best elsewhere. So we put in a microcell. Works great.

New phone has 4GLte so we may not need it anymore but it doesn't cost anything so it runs all the time.

I'm fairly certain that 3G and 4G LTE uses the same towers, so you'll probably need to continue using it until they add more in your area.

Side note: both AT&T and Verizon microcells will give you access to the 3G network only. As of now, they are not 4G LTE compatible.

Yes but I'm also in California and I'm not getting it there. Problem with these LTE phones is that they are not backwards compatible with the regular 4G.

Yeah well there's no Sprint LTE in OC either which is one of the main reasons I didn't go with sprint and their unlimited plan. If I'm not in Vegas I'm in Newport Beach. Sorry jet but if you want real LTE sell the phone and switch to Verizon.

Sprint and unlimited data is great if you happen to live in one of the few areas they offer coverage.

Thanks you guys. I appreciate your feedback. I want to switch for better reliability in my house, but I'm afraid I might use too much data outside on Verizon (with att I'm unlimited) and I'm very interested in Sprint, but what good is unlimited data if it's much slower than at&t or Verizon. I'm also going to look into the Microcell.
