I really hope one of these wheels get built. Imagine how it would affect the skyline?

Skyvue's future looks cloudy - Business - ReviewJournal.com

Quote:
Skyvue appears to be out of money and is fast becoming an eyesore across from Mandalay Bay.
The project, envisioned as a 500-foot-tall wheel with 140,000 square-feet of retail, dining and entertainment, had an estimated cost of $300 million.

Directly across from Mandalay to the East you'll see the two concrete uprights.

I'm not so sure LV is better off than it not moving at all. I see nothing that makes me highly confident that it will ever be completed. Is LV better off that Fontainebleau reached the point that it did and has been abandoned for so long, with no plans to finish within the foreseeable future?

Many times I think partially finished projects that ultimately get abandoned are eyesores, and tend to tie up valuable real estate for lengthy times that might otherwise have attracted a more viable project. Personally I wish no project would be allowed to start until binding commitments for adequate financing to complete it are obtained.
