It does? Sounds like what you'd name a 55+ age-restricted community in Henderson.

Retiring baby boomers would eat it up.

With so much to do here, I really believe that a national promotion touting the many attributes of this area would do much to help the area bounce back.

Many who have a negative perspective of Las Vegas have never been to Las Vegas.

Is cheap food gone? Not entirely.
Are cheap rooms gone? Not entirely.
Are there many non-gaming things to do in the area? Absolutely.

Get 'em out to Las Vegas just once, and show 'em a good time, and maybe they'll be back.

I should know. I've been come to Las Vegas since the 70s.

I was surprised how expensive things were in vegas. I just got back yesterday and the wife and i had a lot of fun and did very little gambling. We arrived thursday and had fun playing slots and the different casinos. The machines were paying off everywhere...not huge bucks, but enough to make you have fun. We ended up winning $200 on Thursday.

Friday came along and those machines magically got stingy. I'm talking put your money in and hardly even winning a few credits back to keep your money going. It got boring pretty fast and i had no interest in donating money to the casinos for a few minutes of "fun".

We did some shopping, watched some shows, ate a lot, rode the zipline on fremont and just walked all along the strip. That was much more fun than gambling. For me, it was fun but coming to Vegas the way it is now is not something I would do often. As I said, i was surprised how expensive everything was and there are other places I would rather go for the same money. Its definitely something to experience though.

About the only thing I hated was all the people stopping you trying to give you free shows, free stays, and harassing you when you declined. They also have no problem with showing their displeasure with you when you refuse.

Next time, rent a car get off the strip, and do some research on locals deals before you go.
