My wife and i will be up there next week and of course all this crap about killings on the strip had to happen. How safe is the strip? We arent going to venture off the strip and I always make it a point to be aware of my surroundings, especially in a place i dont know very well.

Just wanted to here from people that live there. Thanks

Yeah, i'm a low profile guy who minds his own business and doesnt become a macho man tough guy when i drink. If someone bumps me, i'll just say sorry and be on my way. Seems like the macho men tough guys are the ones to worry about when they're drunk

No more dangerous than anywhere else that's crowded with people. Being aware of your surroundings and your belongings is always a smart idea.

I understand your concern good sir, but I assure you in light of recent events, Las Vegas Blvds is one of the safest places on earth.

Our police force is very professional and will respond appropriately to ensure the safety of the public.

You should feel confident in your safety while visiting Las Vegas.

Or a passenger is a cab.

But seriously, as a tourist, your as safe or safer on the strip than at any other tourist destination that is an open public area. The hotels and Metro take security seriously, and do as much as possible to provide it as can be done in a public place. This isn't Disneyworld, where access to the area can be strictly controlled and monitored.

I feel safer on the strip then I do sometimes in my med sized city. I see police all up and down the strip when I visit Vegas.

The odd situation like what happened will probably happen once every 10 years or so - kinda better odds to win Powerball jackpot then get caught in what happened to that lady in the cab. RIP

40 million visitors per year x 10-15 years..... very slim odds. But I don't know how many tourists get killed a year in Vegas for what ever reasons. Probably less safe to take a helicopter tour then what just happened to that cab rider.

Even with all the alcohol, partying, drugs and illegal hookers...I'm sure the strip is still more protected than the safest neighborhood in San Antonio.

Especially right now after the past current incident, probably gonna be twice as many cops hanging around down there.
