Who said I hate Las Vegas. I'm just saying that OP report is just another cheerleading read and nothing else. From his previous posts you can see he lives beetween LV and NY.

Also summers here are simply deadly. Starting in mid-May, temperatures begin to top 100 degrees or more before returning to the 90s in September.

There is a reason why summer months are considered off season in Las Vegas. It's not very pleasant outside
and it's hot as hell.

Yes, of course Las Vegas is very hot. But let's put things into perspective. I've only been one place that is significantly hotter and more unpleasant than Las Vegas in August -- Lake Turkana in July.

Humankind sprang up around the shores of Lake Turkana. We are a heat-loving species. Sure, we've adapted for many climates. But we're originally from an area that makes Las Vegas in August seem like a garden spot. If people would spend a couple years minimizing the use of air-conditioning, they will find that they acclimate to the heat in short order. Then they would not NEED to spend all that money blasting AC in a futile attempt to make this place something that it isn't.

AH!!! finally the magic word Acclimate to the climate. That works in reverse for the cold also except the cold bothers the bones and joints when we get older. People have to realize when it is 100 to 110 outside you minimize the time you spend outdoors. The same when it is 0 or -10 you minimize your time outdoors. It just comes down to 3 months of hot vs 4 to 7 months of cold your choice. The deciding factor for me was dry heat and climate vs cold and humid summers. Humidity knocks the energy out of you real hard and fast. I'll take dry heat anytime. Their is no place on earth that is perfect but at least we do not have many of the natural disasters that other areas have. I have to also give a thumbs up to the old folks who lived out here before A/C was invented they could truly ***** about how hot it gets

For housing the summer is not off season. Sales peak in the hot months. Phoenix peaks in the winter.

Summer lows are still under 80 pretty much. So at the worst early mornings are still pleasant.

He liveD in NY. He's in Vegas full time now.

Why is it so hard to believe that some people actually like (or even LOVE) super hot weather? I know I do, and so does Mac! I've been there when it was over 100. It was a piece of cake with that low hunidity. I've ordered some 100+ temps for my visit in May. Hope it arrives!

That is one ugly troll. Probably the ugliest troll I ever seen. Any time someone mentions the word troll, I will think of that picture above.

Nothing will denture us because we compare our other climate lives back in NY State during winter and I will bet you if you lived through enough of those winters you would have no problem with the summers here.
Many people who are inquiring about living in LV read our posts and the residents who post negative stuff really mis lead the new folks. Let people make up their own minds and stop criticizing folks who have a positive outlook on LV. The folks who have just moved here may have a complete positive opinion about the weather and LV in general.
So opposing views about weather are not allowed? That's pathetic.

I don't know how anyone could "hate" a place? I know lots of people do though. Maybe the truth is that they are just frustrated with it and want better from it. Lots of people who leave California fit that category.

I never hated Las Vegas, but I did resent all of the Californians who moved there knocking California when it is California that keep Vegas afloat, for the most part. Our economies are inextricably tied to each other, with Vegas leaning more on us...and just because you've got a 702 area code now doesn't give you license to bash

Again, I've never hated Vegas...saw parts of it that I wish not to see ever again, but that's true with lots of place, even here in LA!

Las Vegas has lots going for it and it will come out of the debacle its in better than ever! Just watch!
