My husband and I were both limo drivers here. In my opinion it is a sleazy job....if you want to make decent money. Yes you can make good money but that comes from drugs/hookers/kickbacks. It is all about the hustle and personality. Also the money is not steady, when there is no work you don't get paid but have to be out there anyway. The summers are typically slower. Also over the last few years there has been a deluge in limo's in town so the competition is stiff. Then there is the doormen at the hotels, either you can't stay at the front door or once again, you have to kick back to them in order to stay there.

My husband drives a limo here in town and it's not at all what it's cracked up to be. When it's slow he will sit the entire day maybe if he's lucky getting a couple of rides to the airport and that's about it. There are busy days but I hate the rollercoaster because when it's slow you basically make nothing at all.

I began working in the Limousine business in 1995. I have only worked for major companies. (those employing more than 200 people) The most I have ever earned according to my tax returns was over 100k in 2004. Those days are long gone. you will probably earn between 26-45k at the most including your cash gratuities. good luck.
