I love driving here. The drivers are so courteous and attentive compared to other parts of the west. The cops are also very polite and professional. LV Metro has to be one of the best police forces in the country.

I have to disagree with everything you said here, especially regarding the police. As far as love and hate.

Love: Hanging out on the strip on the weekends. Being able to drink in public and not be arrested. No state income tax. No snow.

Hate: High auto registration and insurance rates. The cold winter and hot summer. The people who live here (not all, but most). All the cool people I meet are always from somewhere else and are just visiting. The traffic. The air pollution.

The motorcycle cops are really good. The way they hide and jump out after you.
No warnings issued just $500 tickets. But they are so polite..

Seriously, I'd have to think about that and answer for different stages of my life, and different eras. I've come to the conclusion that Las Vegas has changed, but I have too. So, is everything I liked in the 60s gone, or am I just different? Would I like what we have now if I was in my 20s again? If I were younger and more able to enjoy doing things, would I prefer what Las Vegas is like now to what it was in past decades? Or was it really better when the Mob ran the casinos, and we had less people and less restrictions on all the things we did both indoors and out? After all, to me it was more what we had off Strip than on, but the Strip made things exciting too. Especially for the business I was in.

LV is so convenient. Where else can you take a baby to a bar?
