Apparently, this huge problem was exacerbated by RAMPANT SPECULATION from "house flippers" who sought quick profits and never intended to live in the houses they purchased.

Amazing to what lengths people will go to for money. Is it any wonder Vegas has been and is continuing to "earn" a reputation for shady business dealings? (The spirit of 1940's gangster Bugsy Siegel lives on).

Who would want to live in a place like this when there's so many other comparable towns and cities across the West that don't have this "criminal stigma" attached to it? Is Vegas its own worst enemy? What the hell's the matter with these people?
Ummmm...first of all Naturedude, lets get down to nature and truth-isms, which you seem to have left in the woods somewhere. All your negativity and troll-like posts about how bad Las Vegas is, is actually just YOU telling everyone how unhappy and how unfortunate YOU are.

OK...the reason for so many foreclosures here in Las Vegas? It was the hottest housing market in the country. EVERYBODY knew they could potentially earn a few bucks from the MOST DESIRABLE housing market in the country...namely, buying a house in the highly DESIRABLE Las Vegas housing market, and making a profit when you flipped it.

These people, like the rest of the nickel and dime investors in the United States got burned. They couldn't afford to buy homes to begin with, and the mortgage companies were just itching to give out money to people who had no business buying a home to begin with.

You think it's just a Las Vegas thing? It's affecting the whole country...where have you been? Didn't you hear about it? Out in the woods too long?

You think Las Vegas is "shady" because of gangster roots?...then consider some of our more metropolitan areas shady as well. Chicago, Kansas City, Los Angeles, New York City...all shady places with gangster roots...

Man, you seem to be really unhappy with your own poor choices...what else are you going to come up with to bash Las Vegas and justify your misfortunes?

This valley has grown in population so much...Las Vegas is home to a lot of happy and successful people. People who came here and made all the right choices....

Obviously you ain't one of them.

Anyways, I hope you find your perfect place for peace and happiness, God Bless and much good luck to you and yours.
