I was offered a job as a security officer for The Wynn. During the hiring process, the MGM called and I am currently waiting for my background and drug test to come back--which wont be a problem.
I'm assuming the MGM is a better career move because the company has 10 properties on the strip whereas the Wynn has only 2.
However according to Wiki, the Wynn has more employees than MGM.
Is this correct?

The pay and hours are about the same-so that's not an issue. I figure the MGM with all that property, would give me a better chance for promotion--or possibly switching departments all together.

The next part of my question is a little tricky.
Lets say I accept the MGM offer when it comes in---what do I tell The Wynn?
I don't want to burn that bridge by telling them I'd prefer to work for their rival. After all--I have a start date--and I have that job 100% in the bag.

Of course.
I've already agreed to accept the Wynn.
However, I don't start for another 2 weeks.
During that time--the MGM should--COULD be ready.
I understand being sent for the drug test and background is no job offer. So, I accepted the Wynn.
But what do I do IF the MGM offers me a job.
Which would be a better employer and what do I tell the Wynn?

Personally, I'd stick with The Wynn if I had already accepted the position.

Because of moral reasons--it WOULD be the right thing to do I know.
But I'm not that moral of a person.
But if thats what you mean--then yes--i do understand.
Whats your reasoning might I ask?

But like I said--as of right now, I'm a Wynn employee- first day is in 2 weeks.

What I did once was let the job know that I accepted another offer for more $$$ and better opportunity for growth. They can raise their offer or just let you go.

You do know that many if not most of MGM's properties were built by Steve Wynn and many of the employees from the old Wynn properties are now at MGM? In other words, everybody knows everybody. Now I don't know about the security management, but I can just hear this phone call between two old co-workers: " Dammit, I'm short handed again. Some new guy was supposed to start last night and bailed at the last minute to go work for you guys."

"Yeah, what was his name?"
