My 2 cents as I have been on the phone
For 5 days to transfer a Medicare supplement
Policy (for age 64 & under no one writes in NV
As of last year), auto & walls-in condo coverage.

Did find that it was not cheaper to bundle.
Had to get off the phone w/some agents regarding
Walls-in as they had no idea what their plans
Covered. About a 100% variation in auto quotes.

The least expensive for me were geico,
21 century & Hartford/AARP. All about the
Same - geico less by $20/mo but I don't like
6 mo policies.

Was a long time AMICA person. Walls-in
Competitive but auto about 60% higher than
These others. Yes, age, record coverage all
Matter but the AMICA rep told me that the co
Chooses which geographic market they want
To compete in. Obviously they want inland SoCal
(Current resident) but not NV. She also told me
As a RI resident, she does not have AMICA for the
Same reason.

Other companies. - State Farm, farmers were higher
Than AMICA.

I did not try any einsurance as I know nothing
About them. I looked @ the major companies
W/jd power awards.

I will try AAA, American national & shelter
After reading these posts. Thanks

I have a good driving record, a 2012 corolla
With 4-5000 miles annually. I am sure this is
Important. The quotes did group by price for
Me into about 3 categories.

So shop around. I just can't justify amica's
Increased expense although I like the company.

Five year old car, 8K miles a year, just me, $500 deductible, no accidents, bundled with homeowners, highest credit score one can have of 830. checked over 15 companies: best, Farmers at $710 a half. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS BUT WHAT CAN ONE DO?

Esurance or einsurance? The former is owned by Allstate, the latter? Who knows.

How many claims have you had with them? You may be in the category of "long term good standing customer" with them. Much different from the cheap rate seekers that file a claim within their first year.

Do some comparison shopping as well. Before moving here I had been a GEICO customer for years. Their rates here were astronomical. I found several companies with better rates.

I've had progressive for about 7 years rates are reasonable and their claims service was excellent in my experience. My woman had a big at fault on my policy in 2009. They handled it nicely. The rates went up 30% for a year and now its way back down the lowest I've ever had

You stuck through it during the 30% increase without jumping ship. Most people won't do that. Any increase and they are out shopping for new rates. My rate initially increased when I moved here. Now it's much cheaper than any place I have lived before.
