I just got a quote for auto insurance based on living in Summerlin area.

A 13 year-old 4 dr sedan(6 cyl)...perfect driving record, older driver.
Am with Farmer's Ins. in IL (chicago burbs)...and the rate would almost TRIPLE.

I am $288 every 6 months now and it would go to $755 every 6 months.!!!

So, over $1500 annually. Is this what most of you are paying?

Vegas has one of the highest auto insurance rates in the country with ease and it's a big drawback for many. The only way you can keep your auto insurance low is by not taking collision and just going with the bare state minimum coverage which is very risky, unless your driving a car that is on it's last legs so to say.

In Henderson rates are much lower than Las Vegas. I compared the two cities and was surprised to save around 50 % vs Las Vegas.

Credit score may be a factor.

I was actually just on the phone today getting rates. We are moving from MO in 2 weeks and our rates will more than double. We have excellent credit and no accidents or tickets and it's an older car. So yes, that's the way it is there.

Depends on a number of factors. Credit score as mentioned previously, also is it garaged?
If you're a home owner bundle car & home. Over 50? Try Hartford/AARP.

I pay $588 per 6 months for a 2012 Tundra and 2012 Hyundai Elantra with full coverage. Both my wife and I have excellent Fico scores. My insurance is thru Geico with 100/300 with 1k deductible. I previously had USAA but they doubled my rates a few years back for no reason. You really need to shop around for the best rates.

What anyone ELSE pays is pretty irrelevant.

Take the declaration page from your policy (the one with all of the limits and charges), take it around to several agencies, fax it to online agencies and get quotes from everyone.
