Wow that is surprising. Does anyone know roughly how those numbers hold up through the rest of the week?

It shouldn't be, the visitors all generally go into hotels and there are only so many rooms available. Over most holiday weekends most hotels are sold out or right near it so the extra people for NYE probably comes from having a slightly larger group using the average hotel room.
