Motel reservations made, route planned.
Now we are just working on where to splash down.

Getting both excited and scared, like the top of a rolle coaster

Just got the bid for $1000 in repairs for Wifes car to make the trip.
Good news is its a Acura with 170K on it and runs like a dream.
Its all belts and water pump...and a wheel bearing.

Timing belt in an Acura supposed to be done around 100k miles. Either it's way overdue or fine for now. Not cheap, cost me $475 in mine.

you're doing the waterpump, it would be nuts not to do the timing belt at the same time..

X3. When mine snapped (left hand turn lane at Sahara and Eastern during rush hour, no less) the car never ran again.

Yep doing the timing belt, the drive belts, water pump, and a wheel bearing.

It's a Pandora's box, once you open it no going back.

Almost forgot new valve cover gasket

There are exceptions of course but it's hard to go wrong with Honda and Toyota. I know a few people with Honda Accords with close to 300,000 miles with oroginal engine and transmission. My car is a baby with only 150,000 miles
