That was fast!

It was legalized in February, and already Station Casinos has their poker site going live today. The nightly prize pool is $1,000 and a Sunday game has $10,000

You must be over 21 years of age, and a resident of Nevada to play.

You can fund accounts by bank wire, mailing a check, or at any of the Station Casinos.

The official site is:
http://UltimatePoker.com

I hope one day they add the 100% paying video poker machines, because I don't like to lose

You don't have to be a Nevada resident. You just have to be in the state when you play.

So if our account is using our Nevada address but we are travelling out of State does it not allow you to play by being able to track your ips showing you are out of state?

IOW, how are they going to know if you are actually in Nevada if you spoof an IP address?

There are many ways beyond just ip tracking. For one if a ping tester sends out signals from 10 different locations and tracks response time it can get a pretty good idea where you are. There are others they won't reveal but protecting the integrity of the intrastate rule was probably their highest priority so the tracking is going well beyond simple measures.

The rule is you must be inside Nevada borders while you play. If the software has any reason to suspect you are not it will not let you play.

That's what I was thinking too. Since they are the first they will be under the highest scrutiny as well. I tried the download from Canada and before you can even validate your account they need everyone to send a copy of your drivers licence or passport and also your Social Security Number...whereby most Canadians are not privy to a SSN unless they have worked in USA. There are more safeguards but these are the first steps.

There has been a huge thread on two+two poker forum. They aren't going to verify by IP address, then are triangulating a cell phone signal. I am in Florida, downloaded, but am not allowed to play until I get to Nevada.

Couple quick comments:
-You DO NOT have to be a resident of Nevada, but must reside there.
-Verizon has not given Ultimate Poker permission to triangulate thier signal. People are going out and buying a pre-paid for about 15 bucks, putting 15 dollars on it and it is working
-You can load or withdraw from your account a variety of ways, even going to the Casino and getting your money there
-The first 30 days is more of a trial to work out any issues
-First tournament is this weekend
-Cash games and sit and go's are happening now

There is a Ultimate Poker worker that is answering a ton of questions. As you can imagine, it's not perfect and will take some time, but soon enough Intra State Poker is going to happen then as Adults we can decide how we want to spend our money again instead of having BS regulations telling us otherwise. This is GREAT NEWS!!!

We haven't had to deal with that here in Canada as we can still play all the big sites. We have a PlayNow site for BC run by our govt lotto and its platform shares with Lotto Quebec. It's a great site but I still seem to head to PokerStars and pkr.com and occasionally Full-Tilt. Golden Nugget has their free testing site where you can win certificates and free nights at the hotel in either Vegas or Atlantic City and they only required my Las Vegas vacation address to play. I love all the Station Casinos in Vegas and look forward to the new Ultimate poker too. It is certainly a step in the right direction for the U.S. players.
