I was surprised by this at first, too. I was especially surprised by how many people on this board have a second home here. I've met about a half-dozen people who regularly post here on CD, and at least half of them are not full time residents.

As Irishspy pointed out, Fremont is pretty ideal for a CD meetup since it works for both locals and visitors.

Any specific posters you are looking to meet? Some people have different days off than others, but the default meetup is Saturday night.

I look at this as a come one, come all situation. I happen to be in town that week, and I figure it is as good an excuse as any for anyone who's interested in actually meeting the people they've been posting with to do so.

If people who are interested have dates/time that particularly work or don't please post they, and we'll figure the rest out.

Which by default excludes anyone who works on the Strip.

I couldn't get a Saturday night off even if I [censored] the chef's [censored.] On a slow Friday night I can sometimes get an early out and then go to the concert that I want to see. But we haven't had a slow Friday night in more than a year.

Which is why I wonder about "Trader Vic" -- people are coming to the place where I work and dropping six figures on dinner (easily done with vintage wines). And the economy is about to fall off a cliff because...?

^^^

If it came down to someone spending 6 figures on dinner/wine or some LV real estate, I'm sure "Trader Vic" would still say that dinner and wine was the better investment.

I would suggest you not post publicly where you intend to meet and at what time.

I find this hard to believe.

It's ridiculously sad, but true. Think of all the good things these wasteful rich people could do with their money:

That's a club I have a hard time believing someone could spend that in a restaurant as well. I guess there's some ridiculously expensive wine?
