Time for expansion on the park, it looks like there are way too many people who still want to buy season passes, myself included and same with more members of my family. It looks like I'll be just cooling off at home in the pool or at my sister's pool. Oh well but I will keep an eye on Wet 'N' Wild's website just in case they start selling tickets again.

You can disbelieve all you want-- like I said, a police officer that investigated sex crimes told me-- I'm not exaggerating anything. FWIW, we had a creep living in our neighborhood who admitted that he went to Wet and Wild and took pictures of kids to sell them. Are you talking about the old wet and wild location? Since it was surrounded by hotels, I can imagine how how perverts could do such a thing.

But honestly, children in bathing suites are vulnerable at parks with water features, YMCA pools, public pools, apartment pools,out front of the house on the slip n slide, splashing by the pools at the casinos, summer activity at Spring Preserves...

Keep them from participating in all of these and it WILL seem like a little bubble. I'm sure you don't believe perverts are just targeting Wet and Wild.

I was reading on Facebook that they didnt want to build the new park too large until they found out what kind of attendance they would have. Duh! After keeping people waiting for a water park the last few years, they should have known the place would pack out!
They could build the place 3 times larger and still pack out daily.

Having spent some 25 years of my life escorting females in significant groups from age 0 to 20s I think your concern is overblown. Toddlers you keep close. But once they hit 5 or 6 they self organize and form a regular defense unit. Note that by the time they reach preteen they take a certain pride in deliberately provoking ogling...a team sport. .

But even before they become sexually aware they as a group are very skeptical of adults. I had a dozen instances when they were young when they decided someone was a pervert. Mostly, though not totally, incorrectly. On one occasion we ended having to offer to place a guys camera where he would not like it.

The ladies took all of this in stride. And I believe there was little or no real danger as long as the pack was together.

Now later when we had a beach front place in Cancun for eight 17 to 23 year olds...I mostly hid.

I was a little boy in the middle 70's and grew up in a very safe part of southern and the ones I remember having issues with were the teenage boys, whether they were neighbors, or family friends.

I think statistics show that most molestation cases come from either relatives, or family friends.

At the old Wet N' Wild, teenage boys would sit at the bottom of Der Stuka because bikini tops tended to fly off on that waterslide. Also, if you didn't cross your legs properly, that was one hell of an enema. Watching the guys trot briskly off to the bathroom after riding that waterslide was great fun.
