This might sound like a dumb idea, but here it goes: I've seen people sell bottled water for $1 along the strip, particularly on the pedestrian bridges. I'm thinking about doing the same thing, but sexing it up a bit. Nothing too cheesy though, I swear! Thinking about calling the business Water Bottle Babes. Ok besides the funny concept, what licenses would I need for this and where would I go? Just moved back to Vegas. Thanks for your help

AFAIK the water sellers are doing it illegally, and the cops will run the off or give them tickets. I don't think the issue licenses for this.

It's getting much cooler now. Not a great time to start up an illegal business that won't earn much.

Forget it. You won't make any money til summer. You are taking a risk. It is illegal. You need to say - free water, donations please; and police may still run you off, or ticket you. Not worth it.

There are certain people who have taken up sections on the strip sidewalks that will introduce themselves to you after you have setup shop on their turf. Water sellers, street performers and costume performers usually have to pay a cut to operate or catch a beating.

I'm surprised Metro hasn't introduced itself to them. That would make for a fun little sting operation.

They have but I don't know how well its going in trying to investigate it. That's how I found out about it being partially in the loop with METRO tourist crimes and fraud division.

I think the could put out decoy vendors, and see who comes a callin'.

The other thing I'd do is pass a law banning anyone on parole or probation from the tourist areas, unless they're working there.

I believe they have but it goes deeper into organized crime syndicates with Cali gang ties thats also involved in narcotics sales and prostitution that's available all over the strip at night on any weekend.
