I'd recommend getting a reverse osmosis or similar type of water filtration.

We are in Green Valley and don't have a home filter. I wouldn't drink the water from the tap, as it is not very tasty. We only drink water from the refrigerator filter.

Las Vegas water is right at the EPA limit for copper, added chlorine and lead. It contains more radiation than I care to ingest -- 3.5 picocuries per liter. The EPA makes homeowners fix radon problems at levels like that. In addition, there are trace amounts of pharmaceuticals in our water. Also, there is so much calcium in our water that our residents have higher instances of kidney stones than the rest of the country.

Is the water safe to drink? Depends on your definition of safe. Everything falls within EPA maximums, although for some things, just barely. Also, keep in mind that the water was tested under ideal conditions right at the treatment plant. Who knows what else your water is picking up as it heads to your tap?

Not sure if it's safe or not, but I know it tastes like crap so I don't drink it.

It won't kill you............................................... .............................right away.

I started off buying gallon bottles of spring water but have moved on to the 5 gallon bottles you re-fill at the store. I still buy a case of 16oz bottle spring water once in awhile for use in the car.

Bought a RO system for the kitchen sink but rarely use it.

If you lived in Michigan, yes, drink the water. Here, no. Filter it. Either with an under the sink filter, or a counter top filter. Or a Brita pitcher or similar. Or do like a lot of us do here, get the 5 gallon bottles and fill them at the store or kiosks outside the stores. The only way I will use the tap water here is if I am cooking with it, and the water comes to a boil. Otherwise the water is only good for washing dishes, taking showers, laundry, washing your car.

And even then, you will have a white mineral film on everything without filtration.
