I know this news is not LV specific but this state really needs to get on board. And this is coming from someone who never has and never will smoke weed(plus I can lose my security clearance if I did).

First state-licensed marijuana retailers to open Jan. 1 in Colorado

Quote:

The world's first state-licensed marijuana retailers, catering to Colorado's
newly legal recreational market for pot, are stocking their shelves ahead of a
New Year's grand opening that supporters and detractors alike see as a turning
point in America's drug culture.

Seriously. The money saved not incarcerating pot heads combined with increased tax revenue from legal sales is a huge boon.

I have no intentions on partaking either. I'm allergic to pot, lol, couldn't do it if I wanted to.

I still wan the guy handling something I might consume to be wearing a gloves, hairnet, and beardnet even if it is "just weed". (If I am correct in assuming he is rolling for someone else's consumption).

That is true. No one has addressed sanitation.

How about when you retire?

I can't do it either since we get random drug tests. We work under federal rules and marijuana is illegal no matter what.

California is set to vote on legalized marijuana next year, after they gather the 500,000 signatures to put it on the ballot. They tried once before, we'll see if it passes this time!

If it does pass, given the large numbers of tourists from California, that might put some pressure on us to legalize it as well.

Second hand smoke of any kind bothers my eyes very badly. I used to have to leave the house any time my parents lit up a cigarette. I am sure weed smoke will affect me the same way. But who knows how things will be when I hit retirement. :-)
