It doesn't take a degree to be smart or intellectual. Just ask any of the people I book into the jail each night, they are the smartest people in the world if you ask them. Just joking. But in reality, the people who did graduate college that come through the jail are the elitest type and want to make it clear that they have a degree. I just tell them that the degree has no bearing on how smart you are. If anything, the degree breeds a type of ******* that I cannot stand. You should see the looks on their faces when I tell them I have a degree and am a year away from my Juris Doctrate. It blows their minds. I'm not better than anyone with it. Your circular reasoning is the reason we have half of the problems we have. Commen sence is worth way more than any degree. So choose who you degrade carefully.

You are quite misinformed my dear...

we have the Nevada Ballet and Theater for the Performing Arts, and we have the Las Vegas Philharmonic...

Talk about not educated...I mean not informed...

They were here when you were? Obviously you weren't looking for them, isn't that what you posted somewhere, that Las Vegas folks are not educated and we don't have a symphony or ballet?

...get educated about where you live...and where you USED to live as well..

Vegas is a desert. The people here start to blend into thier surroundings. They become harsh, abrasive, shallow and uninteresting. Well Im not gonna let this place destroy my life.

Gees MomMom it is nice to have you back. I laughed with Doreen when we heard the guy who was going to run over the old lady "MomMom". Boy was he in for a shock.

It is amazing that this inteligencia knocking Las Vegas is never smart enough to google "Las Vegas Philharmonic" or "Las Vegas Ballet" before posting that they don't exist. Guess those "upper" class types are just not very bright. The US equivalent to British Royalty perhaps?

You tell that beautiful lady you have there I send my best to her! And you too!

And yes, it's good to be back Cap and thank you my friend...old lady indeed......huh!

Don't you just love the whiners and complainers?

It's getting to the point where I don't feel sorry for them or their lack of intelligence anymore

Sorry if this is off topic... but what on earth? This is like the 10th or so thread that I have seen about people trashing Vegas, how it's such a s***y place to live, etc, etc, .... Seriously people, if you hate where you live so much, then get the heck out of there!

Now I know, not everyone that lives in Vegas trashes it... and I'm glad to see that there are plenty that can back up the thought that Las Vegans are uneducated (*high five* to MomMom for that response, btw).

As I look out the window at the snow/sleet coming down... believe me it isn't soon enough that I will be out there in Vegas (this year is going to go by soooo slow!). So to those that hate living in the valley - good. leave. make more room for when I finally move there!

As for the OP on how to meet real people? Search and you will find. I know, sounds cliche', but seriously, you just gotta go out and have a good time. It seems that you are off to a good start. As long as you're a decent person, with somewhat of a brain, I'm sure you'll be fine. Don't limit yourself to bars and nightclubs though.
