Question Looking for a good Job

Hello guys, I'm goin to start looking for a new job, my present job is about 45 minutes away from Las vegas, so my new work place has to be here in the city.
I was thinking on looking to apply for a casino related job, but I know that it is very hard to get an opportunity. Do any one on the forum know if the new complex being built next to the Bellagio are accepting applications?

I'm an I&C and CEM's tech with 16+ experince and have worked for several Power companies and contractors.

Any ideas on were or how to get a referral to work in that place? or the new Station Casino @ Aliante?

The place next to the Bellagio is City Center and isn't slated to be opened until November 2009. It's owned by MGM Mirage primarily so presumably you'd apply through them. They sold out about half of it to a Dubai interest and there was rumor that Kerkorian was going to take it off MGM's hands.

I don't know what your acronyms mean, so I don't think I can help you further. Check out lasvegastodayandtomorrow.com for other projects coming online. I also know that IGT is building a big new building down here, so perhaps they'll soon be expanding down here if that's an option for you given your credentials/exp.

I don't think it's going to be too hard to get a job in a casino if you want one. Each new hotel is going to need thousands of employees. Any reasonably qualified individual should stand a decent shot of getting on at one. Sometimes the new places though are staffed with transfers from old properties, so perhaps don't set your sights so much on a new property as much as filling in behind a transferee at an older property.

It does sound like your credential relate to power generation and I can tell you that the central plant at City Center has it's cogeneration power plant on site.
