There are many brown, fuzzy spiders. Was it really fast? Slow and lumbering? Up on a wall? On the ground? Couldve been a huntsman spider, they get pretty big, but are completely harmless.

That wont happen anywhere in the USA. There is only one tarantula that can potentially get that large, and even then it would be a very large specimen, and thats found in South America-- Theraphosa blondi, aka "goliath birdeater".

Probably wolf spiders. We have a lot of them. They are fearce looking but they won't bother you.
I'm the first to spot critters in our family and am pretty good at it, but have never seen a tarantula in or around Las Vegas. However, my wife saw two or three of them during the last migration while hiking the Pueblo Park Trail which you access off Lake Mead and Buffalo. The ranger we spoke to had seen some also. I tried my best to find them but couldn't. In Texas they would come out in droves after a rain storm. So would the snakes.

It is a Huntsman spider. The reason I know this is because one came in on my cat. They usually stay outside, they are super fast and have a painful bite but will not kill you (may scare you to death lol). I took a picture of it once it was dead and here it is, click on the pic to enlarge. I am also super scared of spiders.

Looks like a wolf spider to me but I'm not a spider expert. It's just that we have a lot of wolf spiders and from what I'm reading the huntsman spider lives in Australia and other exotic humid climates. huntsman spider - Google Search
I've whacked several wolf spiders that were carrying the babies on their backs as these sites describe. wolf spider - Google Search

I have a pest guy come out once a month and spray and can honestly say I have only seen one spider in or on my property and that one is dead! Spiders are rare but I do see quite a few moths at night
